Day baseball continues with the series finale between the Detroit Tigers (51-57) and Baltimore Orioles (52-56) on Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park with a 1:10 p.m. ET first pitch in Michigan. The series is tied at one game apiece, setting up Wednesday’s rubber match with the series victory on the line.

The Orioles struck first with an 8-5 win to open the three-game series on Monday behind home runs from Leody Taveras, Coby Mayo, and Tyler O’Neill, while the bullpen overcame a tough start from Kyle Bradish, who lasted just 4.2 innings and allowed five runs. The Tigers responded with a dominant 14-0 shutout victory on Tuesday behind seven strong innings from Troy Melton, while the offense scored in every inning.

Perhaps the biggest storyline entering Wednesday afternoon’s matchup is defending back-to-back AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal and his 2.70 ERA taking the mound for Detroit in what could potentially be his final start in a Tigers uniform. Trade rumors continue to heat up as the Aug. 3 deadline approaches, with Detroit potentially playing itself out of the playoff picture after losing three of its last four games and falling to six games below .500.

The Orioles are expected to counter with veteran left-hander Trevor Rogers, who will make his 20th start of the season. Rogers could also be moved before the deadline, as Baltimore currently sits on the fringe of the playoff race heading into the final two months of the 2026 regular season.

Tigers vs. Orioles Best Bet: Hao-Yu Lee Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (-115)

Hao-Yu Lee made his MLB debut with the Tigers on April 17, and after a slow start to his big league career, the infielder has really turned it up a notch at the plate. Lee hit .352 in June and is batting .320 in July while riding a 12-game hitting streak heading into Wednesday afternoon’s series finale against Baltimore.

In addition to piling up hits, Lee has scored a run in 50% of the games during his hitting streak and has driven in 10 RBIs over that span, including two in Monday’s series opener. Lee went 0-for-2 against Trevor Rogers in their previous head-to-head matchup on May 24, recording a lineout and a flyout, but he’s been a completely different hitter since then.
